Men's Indoor Track & Field Competes at ECAC Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Senior Chinedu Chukwu (Randolph, Mass.) and juniors Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.) and Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) each advanced to the finals of their respective events to lead the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team during day one of the ECAC Division III Championships.

Chukwu and Couture placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash.  Chukwu posted a time of 6.96 seconds, while Couture registered a time of seven seconds flat (7.00).

Murtagh recorded a time of 8.03 seconds to finish first overall in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurldes.

The Bears' 4x200-meter relay squad featuring freshmen Cameron Williamson (Easton, Mass.), Colin Knapton (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and Hueston Brathwaite (Randolph, Mass.) and senior Joseph Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) posted a time of 1:30.24 to place seventh and earn All-ECAC honors.

Williamson also placed 15th in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 10.5 inches (13.37 meters).

The 2015 ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship will continue on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
