Men's Track & Field Competes at Dartmouth Relays

DARTMOUTH, N.H. -- Senior Chris Perry (Attleboro, Mass.) broke the school indoor record in the triple jump to lead the Bridgewater State University men's track & field team at the 2015 Dartmouth Relays.

Perry posted a distance of 48 feet, 9.50 inches (14.87 meters) to finish second in the event at the meet.  He eclipsed Joshua Danner-Hicks' previous mark of 48 feet, 6.00 inches (14.78 meters) set last season at the ECAC Division III Championships.

Perry currently ranks first in all of Division III in the triple jump as well as second in the long jump.

Junior Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.33 seconds, while senior Chinedu Chukwu (Randolph, Mass.) placed fourth and equaled his own school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.93 seconds. Chukwu had set the Bears' 60 mark at the season-opening UMass Boston Invitational back in December.

Senior Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) was the fourth runner to cross the finish line in the mile run as he posted a time of 4:14.16.

The Bears 4x200-meter relay team consisting of seniors Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Joseph Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.), junior Carlton Williamson (Easton, Mass.) and freshman Colin Knapton (Mattapoisett, Mass.) placed third in the event with a time of 1:32.42.

Freshman Cameron Williamson (Easton, Mass.) added a sixth place showing in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 4.50 inches (13.22 meters).

Bridgewater State finished sixth in the team standings with 30 points. Host Dartmouth College captured the team title with 131 points followed by Southern Connecticut State University (76 pts.) and UMass Lowell (45 pts.).

Next weekend, the Bears will compete at the Tufts Invitational.
