Danner-Hicks, Murtagh Earn All-America Honors at NCAA Track & Field Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Senior Joshua Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) placed fourth in the triple jump and sophomore Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) finished eighth in the finals of the 110-meter high hurdles as they each garnered All-America honors on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Danner-Hicks, who entered the meet ranked seventh in the event, posted a school-record distance of 48 feet, 5.25 inches (14.76 meters) on his second jump of the day to capture fourth place in the triple jump. He eclipsed his own previous BSU outdoor standard of 48 feet, two inches (14.68 meters) set earlier this season at DIII New Englands.

Murtagh recorded a time of 15.31 seconds in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles to finish eighth overall.  On Friday, he advanced to the finals with a preliminary (and BSU record) time of 14.56 seconds.

Teammate Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) also garnered All-America accolades on day one of the national championships meet with a seventh-place performance in the long jump on Thursday.

The Bears tied for 33rd place in the team standings with eight points.

During this past winter indoor season, Danner-Hicks and Espinosa also recorded All-America performances in the triple jump (sixth place) and 200-meter dash (eighth place), respectively.
