Conor Murtagh Advances to 110-Meter Hurdle Finals at NCAA Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) advanced to the finals of the 110-meter high hurdles during day two of the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. 

Murtagh place fifth out of a field of of 19 hurdlers with a BSU school-record time of 14.56 seconds. He eclipsed his own previous standard of 14.57 seconds set last weekend at the ECAC Division III Championships.

The top eight finishers advanced to Saturday's finals.  The finals of the 110-meter high hurdles is scheduled for 2:40 PM on Saturday afternoon.

Murtagh will have the chance to join teammate Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) as the Bears' second All-American at the national championship meet.  Espinosa placed seventh in the long jump on Thursday to garner All-America status.

BSU senior Joshua Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) will compete in the triple jump on Saturday at noon.
