Danner-Hicks Garners All-ECAC Honors to Highlight Day One of ECAC Championships

TROY, N.Y. -- Joshua Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) garnered All-ECAC honors in the triple jump to lead the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team during day one of the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by RPI.

Danner-Hicks placed third at the meet with a leap of 47 feet, 10.75 inches (14.60 meters).

Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) recorded a third place showing in the preliminaries of the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.71 seconds.  Murtagh, who advanced to Friday's finals, was just 2/100 of a second off his own BSU outdoor mark of 14.69 seconds.

Joseph Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) and Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, Mass.) finished tenth and 11th, respectively, in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash.  Danner-Hicks recorded a time of 10.87 seconds, while Espinosa checked in at 10.89 seconds.

Andrew Couture (Dighton, Mass.) and Chinedu Chukwu (Randolph, Mass) also competed in the 100 with Couture placing 15th (10.96) and Chukwu finishing 20th (11.04).

Daniel Coulter (Norton, Mass.) placed 19th (15.43) in the 110-meter high hurdles, while Matt Horan (Billerica, Mass.) finished 28th (16.09).

The ECAC Division III Championship meet will conclude on Friday.  The Bears are tied for 18th in the team standings with six points.  RPI and Bates College are currently tied for first place with 24 points, followed by Moravian College in third place with 22 points.
