Four Indoor Marks Fall as Men's Track Competes at the Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Four school records fell as the Bridgewater State University men's indoor track and field team competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational this weekend.

Junior Stephen Wahome (Lowell, Mass.) posted a time of 14:57.29 in the 5,000-meter run as he shattered Brendan Lynch's 2001 mark of 15:34.00.  Wahome, who finished 43rd among the 114 competitors, also qualified for the Division III New England and ECAC postseason championship meets.

Sophomore Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) eclipsed the Bears' indoor mile mark crossing the finish line in 4:16.47 as he broke Tim Barrow's 2008 record of 4:20.08.  Sukeforth, who finished in 35th place, also qualified in the event for DIII New Englands and ECACs.

Sophomore Matt Horan (Billerica, Mass.) posted a new school mark in the 60-meter hurdles.  Horan recorded a time of 8.54 seconds to place 12th overall as he also qualified for DIII New Englands and ECACs.

Freshman Josh Goehring (Haverhill, Mass.) broke his own BSU indoor mark in the 500-meter run which he set earlier this season at the Harvard Open.  Goehring registered a time of 1:06.62 to finishin 19th place as he surpassed his previous standard of 1:07.10.

Next weekend the BSU indoor track and field teams will compete at the Tufts Invitational II.
