Men's Track Places 3rd at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College men's track and field team placed third at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. 

Freshman Felix Mensah (Lowell, MA) placed first in both the 100-meter dash (11.03 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (22.73 seconds).  He also ran a leg on the Bears' 4 x 100-meter relay team which won the event in a time of 44.14 seconds.  Mensah qualified for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships in the 100.

Joining Mensah on the 4 x 100 relay were fellow freshmen Mohammed Malik (West Bridgewater, MA) and Nick Pistacchio (Johnston, RI), and senior Kevin White (Swansea, MA).

White grabbed a first place finish of his own in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.46 seconds as he also qualified for the NEICAAA Championships. 

Sophomore Jeff Sousa (North Dighton, MA) won an event as well as he placed first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:31.64.
