Men's Tennis Falls to Eastern Nazarene, 9-0

QUINCY, Mass. – The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over visiting Bridgewater State University on Wednesday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.

The Lions improve to 9-4 with their sixth straight win, while the Bears fall to 1-4.

Eastern Nazarene swept the three doubles flights and won each of the six singles matches in straight sets.

Junior Franco Milivinti (Buenos Aires, Argentina) won the battle of the top flight singles players, 6-1, 6-0, and teamed with freshman Iker Rodriguez (Naucalpan, Mexico) for an 8-0 win at second doubles. Rodriguez also posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at number three singles.

Senior Carlos Gallardo (Tulua, Columbia) and sophomore Vittal Harith (Bangalore, India) paired up for an 8-1 victory at number on doubles. Gallardo added a 6-1, 6-0 win at fifth singles, while Harith produced a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at number four singles.

Freshmen Luis Hernandez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Gabriel Guzman (Huila, Columbia) rounded out the Lions' singles winners at the second (6-3, 6-2) and sixth (6-1, 6-1) flights, respectively.

ENC also received an 8-5 win from the third flight doubles tandem of Junior Carlos Sanchez (Malaga, Spain) and freshman Ricardo Vazquez (Mexico City, Mexico).

The Bears travel to the University of Southern Maine on Saturday for a noontime Little East Conference (LEC) match with the Huskies. The Lions are off until Tuesday, April 11th when they entertain Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe University of Saint Joseph Connecticut at 3:30.
