Men's Tennis Posts 7-2 Win Over Curry

MILTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season as the Bears downed host Curry College, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon at the Big Nine Courts.

The Bears (1-1) won all three doubles matches and four of the six singles flights to give rookie head coach Chris White his first coaching victory.

In doubles play, the third flight team of Andrew Narciso (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) won by default, while Chris Jastrab (Chicago, Ill.) and Justin Haley (South Yarmouth, Mass.) cruised to an 8-1 win at the second spot. Matt McGee (Warren, R.I.) and Michael Delisle (Berkley, Mass.) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 decision at the top flight.

Delisle won in straight sets at number three singles, 7-5, 6-2, while Narciso also posted a straight set win at the fifth flight, 6-0, 6-0. Haley split the first two sets at number four, 6-1, 5-7, before winning the super tie-breaker, 10-0. Harrison Ryan (Halifax, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' singles winners with a default victory at the sixth flight.

In upcoming action, the Bears host Johnson & Wales University on Saturday at noon.
