Men's Tennis Falls to Johnson & Wales, 9-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Johnson & Wales University on Monday afternoon. The match was played at the Rhode Island College Tennis Courts.

The Wildcats improve to 2-1 on the season with the win, while the Bears slip to 0-2.

JWU captured all three doubles matches and each of the six singles flights to earn the victory.

Sophomore Matt McGee (Warren, R.I.) put up a tough battle for the Bears in the setback playing at the top doubles flight as well as number two singles.

McGee dropped a 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 decision to sophomore Nicholas Auffret (Holtsville, N.Y.) in the match-up of the second flight singles players.

In doubles play, McGee teamed with senior Sean Bleau (North Dighton, Mass.) in an 8-6 loss to the Wildcats'' number one pair of Auffret and fellow sophomore Andre Barbero (Brielle, N.J.) 

In upcoming action, Johnson & Wales travels to UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday afternoon for a 3:30 match with the Corsairs. Bridgewater State entertains the Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday afternoon also at 3:30.
