Men's Tennis Falls to Roger Williams, 8-1

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The visiting Bridgewater State University men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Roger Williams University on Thursday afternoon.

The host Hawks improve to 5-2 on the season while the Bear slip to 2-4.

Roger Williams captured all three doubles matches and five of the six singles flights to post the non-conference victory.

Senior Eric Johnson (Kingston, Mass.) picked up BSU's lone point as he recorded a 6-1, 7-5 straight set win at fourth singles.

Sophomore Eric Laboissionniere (Cumberland, R.I.) paced Roger Williams as he posted a 6-0, 6-1 straight set win at first singles and teamed with junior Zack Bussiere (Colchester, Conn.) for an 8-0 triumph at second flight doubles.  Bussiere also won in straight sets at second singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Taylor Webster (Bristol, Conn.) added a 6-1, 6-3 singles victory at the third flight and paired with junior Ryan Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) for an 8-1 decision at the top doubles spot.

 The Bears are off until next Thursday afternoon when they host Suffolk University at 3:30.
