BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's team dropped a 9-0 decision to Clark University in the Bears' home and season-opener on Wednesday afternoon at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.
Sophomore Antoine Martin (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) paced the visiting Cougars (8-2) at the top singles and doubles flights. Martin posted a 6-3, 6-0 straight set win at first singles and teamed with classmate Fernando Pinoargote (Guayaquil, Ecuador) for an 8-0 victory at #1 doubles.
Clark won all three doubles matches and each of the six singles flights.
The Bears (0-1) host Wheelock College on Thursday afternoon at 3:30, while the Cougars travel to Stonehill College on Saturday for a one o'clock match with the Skyhawks.
