Men’s Swimming & Diving Earns Six All-NEISDA Honors on Final Day of 2020 NEISDA Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team picked up six All-NEISDA accolades during the fourth and final day of the 2020 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Sunday at the URI Tootell Aquatic Center.

Senior Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.), freshman Ben Wilkinson (Reading, England), senior Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) and freshman Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) earned All-NEISDA honors in the 400 freestyle relay. The foursome placed second in the event with a time of 3:15.31.

Anastasiades also placed third in the 100 individual medley (54.36), while Wilkinson finished eighth in the 100 I.M. (57.90).

Flaherty posted a fifth-place performance in the 50 backstroke (25.78), while Santos placed sixth in the 100 freestyle (48.51).

Senior Timucin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) rounded out the Bears' All-NEISDA performers with a sixth-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle (17:14.10).

Senior Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) earned the Bob Muir Senior High Point Award. The award is given to the senior swimmer who scored the most career points at the NEISDA Championships.

Senior Joseph Capella (New Bedford, Mass.) garnered the Male Senior Diver High Point Award. The award is given to the senior diver who records the most career points at the NEISDA Championships.

The Bears finished in fourth place in the team standings at the four-day championship meet with 459.5 points.

The BSU men's squad was also selected as the recipient of the Steve Looke Team Sportsmanship Award for the sixth time in the last eight years.
