Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to Babson in Senior Day Meet

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team hosted a dual meet against Babson College on Senior Day at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears, who won five events on the day, dropped a 185-98 decision to the visiting Beavers in their final regular season meet.

Freshman Chris Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) captured top honors in the 100 butterfly with a season-best time of 54.44 seconds.

Senior Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) was the first to touch the wall in the 50 butterfly as he recorded a season-best time of 24.36 seconds.

Senior Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) placed first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.99 seconds.

Senior Joseph Capella (Centerville, Mass.) won both diving events as he recorded a score of 185.70 points on the one-meter board and a score of 163.40 points on the three-meter plank.

Prior to the meet, the Bears honored Santos, Flaherty, Capella and fellow seniors Trevor Amador (Mansfield, Mass.), Cameron Carnese (Framingham, Mass.), Eric Henderson (Cumberland, R.I.) and Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.).

Next Saturday, the Bears will host the BSU Alumni Meet as the team will celebrate 50 years of the swimming & diving program.
