Men’s Swimming & Diving Competes at Louise Goodrum Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team competed at the non-scoring Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Athletic Center.

The Bears placed first in eight events on the day.

Seniors Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.), Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) and Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) and freshman Ben Wilkinson (Reading, England) won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.05.

The foursome of Santos, Wilkinson, sophomore Sebastian Gwynne (Mansfield, Mass.) and Flaherty placed first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.03.

Flaherty was also the first to touch the wall in the 50 backstroke (25.97) and 100 backstroke (58.69), while Willis captured top honors in both the 50 breaststroke (28.58) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.85), and Santos won the 50 freestyle (23.18).

Senior Timucin Marino (East Greenwich, R.I.) rounded out the Bears' event winners as he finished first in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 18:40.49.

In upcoming action, the Bears travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday evening for a six o'clock meet with Lyons.
