Men's Swimming & Diving Cruises to 184-107 Win over Clark

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team cruised to a 184-107 victory over visiting Clark University on Saturday afternoon at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears (2-2) won 13 of the 16 events.

Bridgewater State opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay and capped it off with a win in the 200 freestyle relay. The foursome of senior Robert McDougall (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), junior Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) and sophomores Devin Bombardier (Duxbury, Mass.) and Michael Leung (Wakefield, Mass.) posted a winning time of 1:45.71 in the 200 medley relay, while Flaherty, senior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) and juniors Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) and Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) recorded a time of 1:31.10 to win the 200 free relay.

Rose also paced the Bears with three individual victories in the 1,000 freestyle (10:44.56), 200 backstroke (2:04.81) and the 500 freestyle (5:13.24).

Santos captured top honors in both the 50 freestyle (22.46) and 100 freestyle (49.80), while Willis was the first to touch the wall in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.23) and 200 breaststroke (2:18.69).

Flaherty picked up a win in the 100 backstroke (55.45), while Leung had the top performance in the 100 butterfly (57.35).

Senior Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) swept the diving events as he posted a score of 212.50 points on the one-meter board and 239.55 points on the three-meter.

The Bears return to competition on Wednesday evening when they travel to Roger Williams University for a six o'clock meet with the Hawks.
