Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 147-87 Decision to Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. -- Junior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) won a pair of events to pace the visiting Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team in a 147-87 setback to Wheaton College on Wednesday evening at the Balfour Natatorium.

The host Lyons improve to 1-3 with their first dual meet win of the 2017-2018 season, while the Bears slip to 2-2.

Rose captured top honors in both the 200 freestyle (1:50.96) and the 500 freestyle (5:00.49).

Freshman Quinn McAlear (Norton, Mass.) added a victory in the 200 individual medley (2:07.12), while junior Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) placed second in each of the two diving events. Belinsky posted a score of 210.67 points on the three-meter board and 209.92 points on the one-meter.

Senior Richard Smith (Milford, Mass.) checked in with a trio of second place performances in the 200 freestyle (1:51.41), 100 butterfly (56.61) and the 500 freestyle (5:11.94). Sophomore Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) placed second in the 50 freestyle (22.88) and the 100 freestyle (50.95), while classmate Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.48).

The Bears travel to Clark University on Saturday afternoon for a one o'clock meet with the Cougars.
