Men's Swimming & Diving Competes at Goodrum Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team competed at the non-scoring Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.

Senior Richard Smith (Milford, Mass.) won three individual events and one relay to pace the Bears. Smith placed first in the 100 backstroke (55.08), 100 breaststroke (1:03.65) and the 100 individual medley (56.25). He also ran a leg on the Bears' winning 200 medley relay (1:40.45) along with sophomore Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.), freshman Quinn McAlear (Norton, Mass.) and sophomore Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.).

Willis, who competed in every event except for the 1,650 freestyle, added a victory in the 50 breaststroke (28.57). Junior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) and sophomore Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) also picked up event win for the Bears. Rose in the 50 backstroke (26.67) and Santos in the 50 freestyle (23.43).

In upcoming action, the Bears travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday evening for a six o'clock meet with the Lyons.
