Men's Swimmers Cruise Past Gordon, 152-95

WENHAM, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swim team posted a 152-95 victory over host Gordon College on Saturday afternoon. The Bears recorded the top time in 14 of the 16 events.

Sophomore Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) won three individual events and swam a leg on the 200 freestyle relay to lead the Bears. Rose placed first in the 200 freestyle (1:51.20), the 100 butterfly (58.53) and the 500 freestyle (5:08.01).

The Bears' foursome of Rose, juniors Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) and Richard Smith (Milford, Mass.) and freshman Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) were the first to touch the wall in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.09).

The 200 medley relay squad featuring Smith, Santos, sophomore Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) and freshman Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) won the meet-opening event with a time of 1:42.29.

Willis added a pair of of individual wins in the 50 breaststroke (28.88) and the 100 breaststroke (1:03.23), while Smith had the top time in both the 100 backstroke (54.17) and the 400 individual medley (4:32.07).

The Bears also received wins from Medina in the 50 backstroke (27.97), Santos in the 50 freestyle (23.55) and Belinsky in the 50 butterfly (25.23).

The Bears are off until Saturday, December 3rd when they compete at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational.
