Jameson Rose Named NEISDA Swimmer of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Jameson Rose has been selected as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Male Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com.

Rose is the first BSU men's swimmer to earn the honor.

Rose placed first in two individual events and one relay against NEISDA power Keene State College this past weekend. The Somerset, Massachusetts product captured top honors in the 200 freestyle with a career-best time of 1:49.73. He also won the 100 backstroke with a career-best mark of 56.31 seconds.

The Bears' 200 freestyle relay squad featuring Rose, senior Matt O'Brien (Whitman, Mass.) and sophomores Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) and Benjamin O'Connor (East Longmeadow, Mass.) posted a winning time of 1:34.27.

Rose also captured top honors against Brandeis University in the 200 individual medley with a career-best time of 2:05.16 and placed first in the 100 backstroke with a mark of 56.22 seconds.

Rose has qualified for the NEISDA Division II/III Swimming & Diving Championships in 12 different events. The three-day NEISDA Championships will take place February 12-14 at the University of Rhode Island.
