Rose, McDougall Earn All-NEISDA Honors

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. -- Freshman Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) garnered All-NEISDA honors for the third time in as many days to lead the Bridgewater State University men's swimming and diving team during the third and final day of the 2016 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held at the University of Rhode Island on Sunday.

Rose posted a finals time of 25.35 seconds to place third in the 50 backstroke. The top eight place-winners in each individual event garner All-NEISDA status.

Classmate Robert McDougall (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) also garnered All-NEISDA accolades for the Bears as he finished sixth in the 100 individual medley with a time of 58.87 seconds.

All told, Bridgewater State recorded eight All-NEISDA performances during the three-day championship meet with Rose accounting for three (200 back, 100 back, 50 back). McDougall, seniors Eric Ford (Oakville, Conn.) and David Elofson (Mansfield, Mass.) and sophomore Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' All-NEISDA performers.

Junior Kyle Medeiros (Lakeville, Mass.) also recorded a top ten finish on Sunday as he placed ninth in the 1,650 freestyle (19:12.66).

The BSU men's team finished in eighth place at the three-day championship meet with a score of 277 points.  Keene State College (866 pts.) captured top honors in the men's standings followed by Roger Williams University (599.5 pts.) and Norwich University (508.5 pts.).
