Men's Swimming & Diving Battles Bentley on Senior Night

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team battled Division II Bentley University on Senior Night at the Moriarty Pool.

Prior to the meet, BSU seniors David Elofson (Mansfield, Mass.), Eric Ford (Oakville, Conn.), Kyle Ford (Ayer, Mass.) and Matt O'Brien (Whitman, Mass.) were honored.

The Bears (3-10) dropped a 152-125 decision to the visiting Falcons (6-5).

Ford recorded a first place performance in the 100 breaststroke as he touched the wall in a time of 1:08.59. Ford also placed third in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.02).

Freshman Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) captured top honors in the 200 butterfly (2:03.78), and finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:04.69).

Rose also swam a leg on the Bears' winning 200 freestyle relay team (1:32.61) along with classmate Robert McDougall (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and sophomores Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) and Benjamin O'Connor (East Longmeadow, Mass.). The foursome posted their best time of the season.

Medina added a third place performance in the 200 backstroke (2:09.84).

Junior diver Brian Sheehan (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) posted a score of 203.60 points on the one-meter board and 189.20 points on the three meter.

The Bears wrap up the dual meet portion of their schedule on Saturday when they travel to Regis College for a tri-meet with the Pride and Husson University.
