Men's Swimming & Diving Competes at Goodrum Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team placed first in eight events at the non-scoring Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.

Sophomore Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) captured three events for Bridgewater State as he grabbed top honors in the 100 freestyle (51.70), the 100 breaststroke (1:09.11) and the 100 individual medley (1:00.12). Medina also swam a leg on the Bears' winning 200 free style relay squad along with classmate Hunter Goodrich (Stoughton, Mass) and freshmen Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) and Robert McDougall (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.).

Rose picked up two individual victories in the 100 backstroke (57.42) and the 100 butterfly (56.93), while McDougall was the first to touch the wall in the 50 breaststroke (30.83).

Freshman Jacob Cote (Biddeford, Maine) posted a top score of 172.30 points on the one-meter diving board.

Up next, the Bears travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday night for a seven o'clock meet with the Lyons.
