Swimming & Diving Teams Compete at Boston College

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University swimming and diving teams traveled to Division One Boston College on Saturday afternoon for a dual meet with the Eagles.

Boston College won both the men's and women's meets by scores of 162-108 and 156-121, respectively.

The Bears' 200 freestyle relay squad of freshman Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) and sophomores Charles Anderson (Avon, Conn.), Max Medina (Marion, Mass.) and Benjamin O'Connor (East Longmeadow, Mass.) posted a time of 1:33.5, which was the second best time in the event.

Rose, Anderson, sophomore Andrew Hebert (Lincoln, R.I.) and sophomore Michael Harris (Harwich Port, Mass.) finished third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.99.

Rose also placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.87 seconds,

Sophomore Shae Aiguier (Braintree, Mass.) placed second in the women's 50 freestyle with a time of 28.46 seconds.

Junior Mikaela Ross (Andover, Mass.) finished third in the 50 backstroke with a time of 32.12 seconds.

Freshman diver Laurinda Rocha (Brockton, Mass.) posted a score of 181.20 points on the one-meter board and 187.80 points on the three-meter. 

Sophomore Amanda Brennen (Waltham, Mass.) registered a time of 1:08.86 in the 100 individual medley to place sixth among the recorded times.

The Bears host Regis College and the Eastern Connecticut State University women's team in a multi-team meet next Saturday afternoon at two.
