Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 199-74 Decision to Roger Williams

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team dropped a 199-74 decision to visiting Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon in the Bears' final home meet of the season.

The Bears (1-5-1) received wins by sophomore Brian Sheehan (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) on both the one-meter and three-meter diving boards.  Sheehan posted scores of 187.85 points on the one-meter board and 197.20 points on the three-meter.

Senior Charlie MacDonald (Braintree, Mass.) and freshman Andrew Hebert (Lincoln, R.I.) added second places finishes for the hosts.  MacDonald posted a time of 29.45 seconds in the 50 backstroke, while Hebert recorded a time of 12:14.01 in the 1,000 freestyle.

Prior to the meet, seniors Sean Bruno (Easton, Mass.), David Elofson (Mansfield, Mass.), Andrew Green (Middleboro, Mass.) and MacDonald were honored.

The dual meet schedule continues for the Bears on Thursday, January 22nd when they travel to Babson College for a 6:00 PM meet with the Beavers.
