NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomore Kyle Swardstrom (Brookline, Mass.) won three individual events and picked up a relay victory to lead the Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team at the Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
Swardstrom placed first in the 1,650 freestyle (18:55.18), the 50 freestyle (23.78) and the 100 backstroke (58.20) during the non-scoring meet. He also swam a leg on the Bears' winning 200 medley relay squad along with freshmen Charles Anderson (Avon, Conn.), Hunter Goodrich (Stoughton, Mass.) and Andrew Hebert (Lincoln, R.I.). The foursome posted a time of 1:47.96.
Sophomore Brian Sheehan (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) won both diving events as he posted a score of 200.45 points on the one-meter board and 176.30 points on the three-meter. Sheehan earned his second qualifier for the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEIDSA) Championships on the one-meter board.
The Bears are off until next Saturday afternoon (Nov. 15) when they host Clark University at two.
