Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 126-117 Decision to Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming and diving team dropped a 126-117 decision to Regis College on Saturday afternoon.

The host Pride improve to 3-5 in dual meets on the season, while the Bears slip to 1-8.

Junior Sean Bruno (Easton, Mass.) took home top honors in the 50 backstroke (32.09) while senior Charles MacDonald (Braintree, Mass.) was the first to touch the wall in the 100 backstroke (1:06.10).  Senior Andrew Green (Middleboro, Mass.) posted a time of 13:19.79 in the 1,000 freestle to garner first-place points, while junior John Holmes (Norwood, Mass.) added a win the 500 freestyle (5:54.50).

Junior diver David Elofson (Mansfield, Mass.) placed first on the one-meter board with an 11-dive score of 329.38 points.

Next weekend, the Bears host the BSU "Last Gasp" Invitational.  The diving portion of the meet will take place on Friday night starting at 6:30, while the swimming events will get underway on Saturday afternoon at two.
