Men's Swimming & Diving Downs Gordon, 143-113

WENHAM, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team downed host Gordon College, 143-113, on Tuesday evening at the Bennett Athletic Center.

The visiting Bears improve their dual meet record to 2-3, while the Fighting Scots fall to 0-5.

BSU junior Gerard Ferdinand (Stoneham, Mass.) paced Bridgewater with a pair of individual wins in the 200 freestyle (1:56.57) and 100 freestyle (51.88 seconds) events.  Ferdinand also swam a leg on the Bears' first place 200 freestyle relay squad (1:37.61) along with classmate Erick DalMolin (Springfield, Mass.) and sophomores Todd Avery (Brewster, Mass.) and Sean Bruno (Easton, Mass.).

Bruno added a victory in the 50 butterfly (27.78 seconds), while classmate David Elofson (Mansfield, Mass.) placed first in the 100 individual medley (1:05.60) and senior Luis Silva (Gloucester, Mass.) took home top honors in the 50 backstroke (28.92 seconds).

The Bears are off until January 9th when they host Elms College at 4:00 PM.
