Tully Leads Men's Swimming During Day Two Action of the NEISDA Championships.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- Senior Philip Tully (Cedar Grove, N.J.) placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke to lead the Bridgewater State University men's swim team during day two of the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center.

Tully posted a time of 1:01.03 in the 100 breaststroke as he earned All-NEISDA honors.  The top eight placewinners in each individual event earn All-NEISDA status.

The Bears' 200 medley relay squad consisting of Tully, junior Sullivan Cohen (Bridgewater, Mass.) and sophomores Charlie MacDonald (Braintree, Mass.) and Matt O'Brien (Whitman, Mass.) finished tenth overall with a time of 1:46.71.

Sophomore Gerard Ferdinand (Stoneham, Mass.) added a 13th place showing in the 200 freestyle (1:55.47), while junior Jay Schotter (Lincoln, R.I.) finished 16th in the 400 individual medley (5:07.11).  Ferdinand and Schotter also swam a leg on the Bears' tenth place 800 freestyle relay (8:04.37) along with sophomore Erick DalMolin (Springfield, Mass.) and freshman Todd Avery (Brewster, Mass.).

Bridgewater is currently in 11th place in the men's team standings with 79.5 points.  Keene State College leads the way with 623 points followed by Bentley University (587 pts.) and Roger Williams University (465 pts.).  The three-day championship meet concludes on Sunday.
