Cohen Leads Men's Swimming & Diving in Loss to Division II Bentley

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming and diving team dropped a 163-87 decision to Division II Bentley University on Tuesday evening at the Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.

Junior Sullivan Cohen (Bridgewater, Mass.) paced the host Bears with a first place performance in the 50 butterfly as he recorded a time of 26.50 seconds.  Cohen edged Bentley senior Dave Curran (Danbury, Conn.) by 5/100 of a second to win the race in dramatic fashion.  He also added a third place finish in the 100 butterfly with a season-best time of 1:00.73.

BSU sophomore Erick DalMolin (Springfield, Mass.) posted a third place showing in the 100 freestyle (56.26 seconds), while classmate Matt O'Brien (Whitman, Mass.) also took third in the 50 freestyle (24.62 seconds).

Bridgewater slips to 1-7 in dual meet competition with the loss, while Bentley improves to 7-2.  The Bears will host Babson College on Thursday at 6:00 PM in their final home meet of the season.
