Men's Swimming & Diving Team Competes at UMD Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming and diving team competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.  There was no team scoring in the event.

Senior Philip Tully (Cedar Grove, N.J.) won both the 50 breaststroke (30.91) and the 100 breaststroke (106.94) events to lead the Bears.

Sophomore Matt O'Brien (Whitman, Mass.) won the 100 freestyle (56.31) and added a second place finish in the 50 freestyle (24.68).

Sophomore Erick DalMolin (Springfield, Mass.) competed for the first time in his career on the one-meter board and posted a score of 97.15 points to place third overall.

In the relay events, Bridgewater came away with a pair of second place showings.  The 200 medley relay squad of Tully, O'Brien, sophomore Gerard Ferdinand (Stoneham, Mass.) and freshman Sean Bruno (Easton, Mass.) recorded a time of 1:54.93, while the Bears' 400 freestyle team of O'Brien, Ferdinand, Bruno and DalMolin registered a time of 3:50.50.

The Bears travel to Roger Williams University on Saturday for a one o'clock meet with the Hawks.
