Men's Swimming in 11th Place at NEISDA Championships

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swim team is in 11th place in a 13-team field after the second day of action at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vermont.

The Bears have tallied 76 points over the first two days of events. Keene State College is in first place with 701 points followed by Bentley University with 514.  The championship meet will conclude on Sunday.

Two relay teams and one individual event swimmer were in Saturday evening's finals.

The 200 medley relay team of junior Luis Silva (Gloucester, MA), sophomore Jay Schotter (Lincoln, RI) and freshmen Reggie O'Connor (Lakeville, MA) and Matt O'Brien (Whitman, MA) placed tenth in the event with a time of 1:48.11.  The 800 freestyle relay team consisting of Schotter, O'Connor, O'Brien and freshman Gerard Ferdinand (Stoneham, MA) finished in eighth place with a time of 7:58.65.

O'Connor also posted a seventh place time in the 400 individaul medley (4:42.98).
