Men's Swim Team Places 11th at NEISDA Championships

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swim team finished in 11th place out of a 13-team field at the three-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vermont.

The Bears tallied 97 points over the course of the championship meet.  Keene State College captured the team title with 1,002 points followed by Bentley University with 763.5 and Roger Williams University with 596.5.

Three BSU swimmers and a relay team were in Sunday evening's finals.

Freshman Luis Silva (Gloucester, MA) finished 12th in the 50 Backstroke (28.18 seconds), while classmates Reggie O'Connor (Lakeville, MA) and Gerard Ferdinand (Stroneham, MA) placed 15th (19:12.92) and 18th (19:21.72) respectively in the 1,650 freestyle. 

The 400 freestyle relay team consisting of O'Connor, Ferdinad and fellow rookies Erick DalMolin (Springfield, MA) and Matt O'Brien (Whitman, MA) finished tenth in the event with a time of 3:29.28.
