Bentley Defeats Men's Swimming & Diving, 141-100

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ten different Falcons recorded victories in individual events as the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team captured every event en route to a 141-100 victory over Bridgewater State Tuesday night at the Dana Center pool.

With the win, the Falcons finish their dual record at 8-2.  Bridgewater falls to 2-5. 

Senior Matt Cesaro (Avon, Conn.), swimming at home for the final time, took the 200 yard freestyle in 2:00.64, the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.26 and the 100 individual medley in 1:00.93. He also anchored the Falcons' winning 200 medley relay team that finished in 1:45.28.

Providing two wins apiece were junior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y.) and sophomore George Go (Manila, Philippines). Walsh swept the diving, with scores of 257.85 on the one meter and 275.17 on the three meter. Go touched the wall first in the 50 backstroke (26.50 seconds) and the 50 butterfly (25.38).

Bridgewater State freshman Reggie O'Connor (Lakeville, Mass.) posted a second place finish in the 1,000 freestyle (12:08.61), while classmate Gerard Ferdinand (Stoneham, Mass.) touched second in the 200 freestyle (2:02.53).

Senior Trevor Tompkins (Florence, Mass.) was the runner-up in both diving events with scores of 148.57 points on the one-meter board and 106.87 on the three-meter. 

Bentley is off until the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, which will be held the first weekend in February at Southern Connecticut State.  Bridgewater travels to Babson College on Thursday night for a six o'clock meet with the Beavers.
