WENHAM, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming and diving team won their first dual meet of the season as the Bears defeated Gordon College, 118-99, on Tuesday evening in Wenham.
Senior Michael Crocker (Hanover, Mass.) paced the visting Bears (1-4) with three individual victories. He placed first in the 50 freestyle (:23.39), 100 freestyle (:52.72) and the 50 butterfly (:25.77).
Crocker also swam a leg on Bridgewater's winning 200 freestyle relay team which posted a time of 1:40.78. Freshmen Gerard Ferdinand (Stoneham, MA) and Erick DalMolin (Springfield, MA) and sophomore Alex Coutinho (Revere, MA) joined Crocker in the relay.
Ferdinand posted a pair of first place finishes in the 1,000 freestyle (12:28.00) and 500 freestyle (6:14.68) events, while DalMolin placed first in both the 50 breaststroke (:33.53) and the 100 breaststroke (1:13.65).
The Bears are off until Wednesday, January 12th when they host Elms College at 3:00 PM.
