BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior midfielder Kessy Alves has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

Alves had a hand in four of the Bears’ five goals in a 5-1 MASCAC win on the road over Westfield State University this past weekend. The Brockton, Massachusetts product scored a pair of goals and dished out two assists for six points in the victory over the Owls.

In 13 games (12 starts) in his first season with the Bears, Alves has recorded four goals and a pair of assists for ten points. He is tied for eighth in the MASCAC in goals and ranks ninth in scoring.

The BSU men’s soccer team is currently 3-8-3 on the season and 1-3-1 in conference play. The Bears entertain non-league rival UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday night at seven.
