BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Junior midfielder Isaac De Souza (Sao Paulo, Brazil) tallied a pair of goals including the game-winner in overtime to lift the visiting Framingham State University men's soccer team to a dramatic 2-1 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over Bridgewater State University on Saturday evening at Swenson Field.

The Rams improve to 4-4 on the season and 2-0 in the MASCAC, while the host Bears fall to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Framingham converted off a restart 4:18 into overtime. Junior forward Justin Hansen (Levittown, Mass.) served up a long ball off the restart. Classmate Kenneth Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.), stationed outside the 18, easily won the ball in the air and headed it inside the 18 to De Souza. De Souza turned and fired a shot into the right side of the net from ten yards out to win the game.

After a scoreless first half, a header goal by freshman midfielder Francisco Silveira (Fogo, Cape Verde) in the 50th minute gave the Bears the 1-0 lead. Silveira scored off a well-executed crossing pass from junior forward Filipe Gomes (Fogo, Cape Verde) for his first collegiate goal.

Moments later, Gomes had a breakaway goal called back because of an offside call.

De Souza scored on a direct kick from 23 yards out in the 57th minute to knot the score at 1-1.

Both teams had quality chances over the remainder of the second half. Freshman forward Giovanni Green (Montego Bay, Jamaica) ripped a shot over the crossbar from close range in the 67th minute. BSU junior midfielder Kessy Alves (Brockton, Mass.) hit the outside of the post on a semi-breakaway after beating a defender and the keeper in the 77th minute.

Sophomore netminder Corey Davidge (Blackston, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for the Rams in relief of senior starter Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.). Davidge was forced to make just one save in 42:27 of work. Arno turned aside five shots in nearly 60 minutes (51:51) of action.

BSU sophomore goalkeeper Nate Morgado (Dartmouth, Mass.) registered two saves in the setback.

The Bears held a 24-15 shot advantage for the game as well as a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.

With his two goals, De Souza increased his MASCAC leading total to nine.

In upcoming action, the Bears travel to UMass Boston on Thursday night for a seven o'clock game with the Beacons, while the Rams entertain Lasell College on Monday afternoon at four.
