BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman midfielder Joseph Cruise has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, Cruise potted the game-winning goal in the 77th minute in the Bears’ 3-2 come-from-behind win over MASCAC rival Salem State University last week. The goal marked the first of his collegiate career.

Cruise has played and started in all 11 games in his first season of collegiate soccer.

The BSU men's soccer team is currently 5-5-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in the MASCAC standings. The Bears travel to non-conference foe MIT on Wednesday night for a seven o'clock game with the Engineers.
