Jonathan Pires Named to ECAC Men's Soccer All-Star Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior defender Jonathan Pires has been named as a second team selection on the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men's Soccer All-Star Team.

Pires tallied two goals and six assists for ten points as he started all 22 games for the Bears this past season. The Medford, Massachusetts product also anchored a defensive unit which helped produce a school record 12 shutouts as well as a 0.84 team goals against average.

Pires helped lead the BSU men's soccer team to a school record 17 wins (17-4-1) with a perfect 7-0 mark in MASCAC play during the 2015 campaign. The Bears captured the MASCAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons and fourth time overall.

In 55 career games (all starts) over his first three seasons with the squad, Pires has tallied six goals and ten assists for a total of 22 points. Two of his six goals have been game-winners.

Of the 55 games that Pires has appeared in, the Bears have recorded 23 shutouts and a 1.09 goals against average.
