Conor Murtagh Named MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University senior forward Conor Murtagh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

Murtagh scored three goals in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears which included a 3-0 MASCAC triumph over Fitchburg State University and a 2-0 win over regional rival Wheaton College. The Walpole, Massachusetts product netted back-to-back goals in the conference victory over the Falcons, and potted the game-winning tally in the win over the Lyons. 

Through 14 games this season, Murtagh has 12 goals and four assists for 28 points. He currently leads the MASCAC and is tied for third in all of Division III in game-winning goals with six. Murtagh also leads the conference in both goals and scoring, and is tied for third in assists.

In 53 games over four seasons with the Bears, Murtagh has amassed 26 goals and six assists for 58 points. Of his 26 goals, 12 have been game-winners. Murtagh is currently tied for fourth among the Bears' all-time leaders in goals and tied for seventh in points.

The BSU men's soccer team is 11-2-1 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain UMass Dartmouth in a non-conference match on Tuesday night at seven.
