Conor Murtagh Named MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior forward Conor Murtagh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

Murtagh scored a pair of goals and added an assist for five points in a 1-0-1 week for the Bears which included a 4-0 shutout victory over Salem State University. The Walpole, Massachusetts product notched two goals, including the game-winner, and assisted on another in the win over the Vikings. He also produced a game-high seven shots in a 0-0 double overtime tie against Roger Williams University.  

In 12 games this season, Murtagh has nine goals and four assists for 22 points. He currently leads the MASCAC and is tied for second in all of Division III in game-winning goals with five. Murtagh is also tied for the conference lead in goals, assists and points.

In 51 games over four seasons with the Bears, Murtagh has amassed 23 goals and six assists for 52 points. Of his 23 goals, 11 have been game-winners. Murtagh is currently tied for sixth among the Bears' all-time leaders in goals and tied for tenth in points.

The BSU men's soccer team is 9-2-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday evening for a seven o'clock game with the Lyons.
