Colin Jepson Named MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior goalkeeper Colin Jepson has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Jepson posted a 2-0 mark between the pipes for the Bears last week with a pair of shutouts and 12 saves. The Sandwich, Massachusetts product turned aside nine shots in a 1-0 MASCAC road victory over Westfield State University, and recorded three saves in a 3-0 win over Southeastern Massachusetts rival UMass Dartmouth.

With the two shutouts, Jepson extended his scoreless streak to a school-record six games (580 minutes). He also equaled the Bears' program mark for shutouts in a season with ten. The single-season mark was originally set by Pat Hughes back in 1990.

Through 16 games this season, Jepson has posted a record of 13-2-1 with ten shutouts, 64 saves, a 0.55 goals against average and a .877 save percentage. He currently leads the MASCAC in games played, minutes played (1482:03), goals against average, save percentage, wins and shutouts.  He also ranks 19th in all of Division III in save percentage and 23rd in goals against average.

The BSU men's soccer team is currently 13-2-1 on the season and 6-0 in MASCAC play.  The Bears host regional rival Babson College on Wednesday night at seven.
