BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Four members of the Bridgewater State University men’s soccer team have been selected to the 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer All-Conference Team which was announced by MASCAC Director of Media Relations, Emily Diekelmann.

Senior forward Craig Shadduck (Braintree, Mass.) and senior defender Luke Samperi (North Easton, Mass.) garnered first team honors, while sophomore midfielder Kolin Campbell (Norton, Mass.) and sophomore defender Nicholas Keddie (Abington, Mass.) were named to the second team.

Shadduck is making his third straight appearance on the All-MASCAC Team and second consecutive first team selection.  Samperi was a second team honoree a year ago, while Campbell was voted the conference’s top rookie in 2012.

Through the first 18 games, Shadduck has scored six goals and added an assist for 13 points. He is tied for fourth in the MASCAC in goals and tied for fifth in scoring.  Through 70 games in four seasons at BSU, Shadduck has amassed 19 goals and ten assists for a total of 48 points.  Seven of his 19 goals have been game-winners.

Samperi, Campbell and Keddie have anchored a defensive unit which has helped the Bears post a MASCAC leading seven shutouts as well as a 0.99 goals against average.  Bridgewater has allowed just 86 shots on goal through the first 18 games for a conference-best 4.8 per game.

Samperi is the only player to start all 37 games for the Bears over the past two seasons.  He has played in a total of 45 games, made 42 starts and had a part in 15 shutouts during his three seasons with the team.

Campbell has played in 30 games and made 28 starts over his first two seasons.  He notched his first career goal in a 1-1 tie with MASCAC regular season champion Worcester State earlier this season, and potted his second career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, in a 2-0 MASCAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Fitchburg State.

Keddie is one of five Bears to start all 18 games this season joining Shadduck, Samperi, senior forward Colin Neri (Upton, Mass.) and senior goalkeeper Matt Bagley (Braintree, Mass.).  The transfer from Salve Regina University notched his first collegiate point assisting on Campbell’s game-winning goal in the MASCAC Tournament win over Fitchburg.

The BSU men's soccer team is currently 8-7-3 on the year.  The Bears, who completed the regular season with a 3-1-3 conference mark, advanced to the MASCAC Tournament semifinals by virtue of their 2-0 victory over the Falcons on Tuesday.  Third-seeded Bridgewater will travel to second-seeded Framingham State on Friday morning (11:00 AM) with the winner advancing to Sunday’s MASCAC Championship Game.
