BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University sophomore Sawyer Fleck has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Fleck tallied his first collegiate goal in a 1-0 shutout victory over non-conference foe UMass Dartmouth last week.  The game-winning strike came in the 60th minute of play as he converted a direct kick from just outside the 18.

A native of Foxboro, Massachusetts, Fleck has started 15 games in his first season with the BSU men's soccer team. The Bears are currently 7-7-2 on the year with a 3-1-2 mark in MASCAC play.

Fleck and his teammates will return to action on Saturday afternoon at one when they travel to MASCAC rival Salem State University to take on the Vikings in the regular season finale for both teams.  The Bears would sew up the second seed in next week's MASCAC Tournament with a win over the Vikings.
