BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Plymouth State University this afternoon at rain-soaked Swenson Field in Bridgewater.

Junior midfielder Alec Ciccolinifoley (York, ME) scored just 32 seconds into the contest for the Panthers who improved to 4-0 on the season with all four wins coming on the road.  Bridgewater State evens its' record at 2-2.

PSU freshman goaltender Bjorn Ohlsson (Halmstad, Sweden) turned aside four shots to notch his third shutout of the season.  Ohlsson preserved the shutout midway through the second half as he made a great diving save on a breakaway opportunity by BSC sophomore forward Chris Swindell (Milford, MA).

Freshman midfielder Parker Spear (Sodus Point, NY) added a big insurance marker in the 72nd minute for the Panthers.  Spear drilled a shot into the far-left corner of the goal from just outside the 18.

Shots were even at 12 apiece, while Bridgewater had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.  The Bears had three breakaway chances in the game but were unable to capitalize on any of them.

Senior netminder Ryan Seifert (Ludlow, MA) made three saves between the pipes for BSC.

Bridgewater travels to Amherst College on Wednesday evening for a six o'clock game with the Lord Jeffs.  Plymouth opens Little East Conference play next Saturday on the road against Keene State College (1:00).
