NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team had a long night in heavy rains and whipping winds Tuesday, dropping a 3-0 non-conference decision at the hands of Bridgewater State College at Cressy Field.

Bridgewater scored its opening goal quickly on a Jose DePina (Boston, MA) breakaway assisted by Luke Brewer (Edgartown, MA).  The score held through the remainder of the first half, as both teams struggled to adapt to the inclement weather.

Bridgewater opened the game up in the second half, scoring a pair of goals.  The first was scored by Daniels, who lofted a long floater from over 30 yards out.  The ball hung in the air all the way into the top of the net, putting the Bears ahead 2-0 at 51:15.  Donald Flores (Cranston, RI) later put teammate Dan Roberts (Braintree, MA) in great position for the team's final goal, passing to Roberts up the right side allowing him to break away and score at the 71:45 mark.

Despite the lopsided score, the shots were close to even at 18-16 in favor of the Bears.  Goalkeeper Ryan Siefert (Ludlow, MA) posted his sixth shutout of the season for Bridgewater, making seven saves. Seifert also lowered his goal against average to an impressive 0.72.

UMD is now 7-9-1 and 2-3-1 in the Little East Conference, while Bridgewater State is 10-4-2. The Corsairs will wrap up the regular season when they visit Eastern Connecticut State Saturday, while the Bears will host Massachusetts Maritime Saturday in their own regular season finale.
