PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Junior Matt Daniels (South Easton, MA) scored two goals Saturday afternoon to lead Bridgewater State College to a 4-0 victory over Plymouth State University in a non-conference men's soccer match at Panther Field.

The day got off to a rough start for the home team as PSU knocked the ball into its own net for an own goal midway through the first half.  Daniels notched his first of the game 10 minutes later, with an assist from classmate Pat Medeiros (Brockton, Mass.), to give the Bears a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Daniels opened the second half scoring with his third of the season in the 53rd minute, assisted by sophomore Donald Flores (Cranston, RI), to make it 3-0, and senior Jon Machado (Weymouth, MA) rounded out the scoring five minutes later with a strike from beyond the midfield stripe that found the back of the Panther goal.

BSC had a 14-11 advantage in shots, with senior goalkeeper Ryan Seifert (Ludlow, MA) recording six saves for the Bears for his second shutout of the season.

PSU, 1-3-0 overall, will look to regroup on Sunday with a non-conference home match against Green Mountain College (3:00 PM).  BSC, 4-1-0, is off until next Saturday when it visits Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for a 2:00 p.m. kick-off in the Mass. State College Athletic Conference opener.
