BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman guard Zach Taylor has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

Taylor averaged 13 points, six rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 52.2% (12-23) from the floor in a perfect 2-0 MASCAC week for the Bears. The Quincy, Massachusetts product notched 12 points, nine rebounds (three offensive) and one assist in an 81-75 victory over Westfield State, and tallied 14 points, three rebounds (two offensive) and four assists in an 85-72 win at Fitchburg State.

Through 18 games this season (all starts), Taylor is averaging 9.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 51% (76-149) from the floor and 73.3% (22-30) at the free throw line. He presently ranks fifth in the MASCAC in field goal percentage.

Taylor also earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors on January 8th. 

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 8-10 on the season and 4-2 in the MASCAC. The conference schedule continues on Saturday afternoon when the Bears entertain Salem State University at three o'clock.
