Precious Okoh Named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior guard Precious Okoh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, Okoh averaged 26.5 points, three rebounds, three assists and 1.5 steals in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears while shooting an impressive 71.4% (20-28) from the floor, 64.3% (9-14) from three-point range and 100% (4-4) at the free throw line.

Okoh scored 23 points on 9 of 13 shooting, including 5-for-8 from behing the arc, and added three rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals in 22 minutes of action in a 90-60 MASCAC win on the road over Framingham State University. He also poured in a season-high 30 points on 11 of 15 shooting, including 4-for-6 from three-point territory, to go along with three rebounds, two assists and a steal in an 89-71 conference victory at MCLA.

In 11 games this season, Okoh is averaging 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 42.2% (70-166) from the floor, 37.8% (28-74) from three-point range and 70% (28-40) at the free throw line.

In 23 games over two seasons with the Bears, Ohok has amassed 447 points (19.4 ppg), 118 rebounds (5.1 rpg), 78 assists (3.4 apg) and 33 steals (1.4 spg).

The MASCAC Player of the Week honors marks the second of Okoh's career.

The BSU men's basketball team is currently 11-10 on the season and 7-2 in the MASCAC standings. The Bears entertain conference rival Worcester State University on Wednesday night at 7:30.
