Bears Go Bowling

EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men’s basketball team and Head Coach Joe Farroba were joined for an afternoon of candlepin bowling by teammate Alec on Friday.

The Bears and their young teammate bowled a couple of strings at the Viking Recreation Center in East Bridgewater. Bowling was followed up by a pizza party.

Alec attended the event along with his mom, April, and good friend, Thomas.

12-year old Alec joined the BSU men’s basketball squad back in the fall of 2012 through Team IMPACT and now is in his fourth season with the Bears.

Team IMPACT is a New England-based non-profit organization serving children who are facing life-threatening diseases by creating unparalleled team-based support systems. Core to its model is leveraging the power of teamwork by matching up these courageous kids with college athletic teams.

The BSU men's basketball team (7-11, 3-3 MASCAC) is back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Framingham State University for an eight o'clock MASCAC game with the Rams.
